For the purpose of rational use of weekends and non-working holidays by employees, the Government Russian Federation
decides:
Move the following holidays to 2016:from Saturday January 2 to Tuesday May 3;
from Sunday January 3 to Monday March 7;

Based on Article 112 of the Labor Code, if a day off coincides with a non-working holiday, the day off postponed to the next working day after the holiday.
The exception is weekends that coincide with non-working days holidays January.
The length of the working day or shift immediately preceding a non-working holiday is reduced by one hour.
Since 2013 The Government of the Russian Federation has the right to transfer two days off from the number of days off that coincide with non-working January holidays to other days in the next calendar year.

Duration of daily work (shift):

Working time standards for students
Article 94 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation establishes the maximum duration of daily work (shift) for the following persons:
- workers aged 15 to 16 years - five hours;
- workers aged 16 to 18 years - seven hours;

According to the production calendar of the Russian Federation for 2016, there are 247 working days in the country (including 2 that precede holidays) and 119 weekends and holidays.
Working hours standards in 2016 are:
- with a 40-hour working week: 1974 hours (247 * 8 - 2, where 247 is the number of working days in a year, 8 is the length of the working day, 2 is the number of working hours reduced due to holidays);
- with a 36-hour work week: 1776.4 hours (247 * 7.2 - 2);
- with a 24-hour work week: 1183.6 hours (247 * 4.8 - 2).
Holidays and shortened days off in 2016
Public holidays of Russia, approved by Art. 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, are official days off in the country. These include:
- January 1-6 and 8 - New Year holidays
- January 7 - Christmas

Public holidays in 2016
According to Art. 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, non-working holidays in Russia are the following dates:
- January 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 - New Year holidays
- January 7 - Christmas

If a public holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the day off is transferred to the next working day. In 2016, Spring and Labor Day (May 1) and Russia Day (June 12) fall on Sundays, so the weekend moves to Mondays May 2 and June 13, respectively.
The Government of the Russian Federation has the right to make changes to the production calendar, shift non-working holidays to other dates in order to rationalize the labor process (Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation). Pre-holiday days
On the eve of official public holidays, working hours are reduced by 1 hour, the same for both 40-, 36- and 24-hour five-day workdays. working week(Part 1 of Article 95 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation). In Art. 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation you can see a list of officially established non-working holidays.

The 31st Saturday in December is not a public holiday, so there are only 9 regular weekends this month.
