Wide sweatpants. Stylish combinations with sweatpants. Which pants are the most fashionable?

Sweatpants are a must-have item in a modern girl's wardrobe. This season's trends will allow you to change into original trouser styles that give you a feeling of comfort and lightness. Fitness classes, yoga, acrobatics, and dancing require comfortable “sweatpants,” T-shirts, and tops. The designers did their best by expanding the lineup sporty chic.

Which ones to choose

When selecting a successful model, you should pay attention to the following criteria:

  1. The material must be of high quality. Look at its wear resistance, hygroscopicity, and breathability.
  2. Choose the optimal size according to your figure.
  3. Change into products that do not shrink after washing, dry quickly, do not wrinkle or stretch.
  4. Pay attention to tapered black skinnies, leggings for fitness, and printed colors for dance pants.

You should select a product based on your body shape, fashion trends and individual preferences.

For fitness

For step aerobics, bodyflex, and Pilates, it is preferable to wear sports knitted trousers that are completely tight-fitting. Such models will be preferred by slender, long-legged beauties to highlight the sexy curves of the body, buttocks and thighs.

For running

Morning jogging, conquering marathon distances and regular exercises are, first of all, freedom of movement. Look for styles of bloomers with elastic instead of cuffs. Such models are popular on both overweight and slender athletes. They do not restrict running and are made from breathable fabrics.

Dance

Fans of ballroom dancing, hip-hop sports, go-go, jazz modern, and strip dance carefully choose their wardrobe. Informal styles allow you to come to class in themed denim Bermuda shorts, wide bloomers, etc. But choreography is the key lesson of any dance. For her, choose tight-fitting knitted leggings and leggings, making sure that they do not restrict movement.

Plus-size girls often wear breeches, a style that widens at the hips and tapers at the ankle. Pay attention to conservative formal trousers in black, brown, beige or funny colorful trousers with unusual inscriptions, emoji designs, technological pleats, ombre technique and more.

Sports pants for different seasons

Depending on the temperature “overboard”, pay special attention to the material of sports trousers. So, for jogging in the sun, wear linen or cotton stretch leggings, Bermuda shorts, and capris. Go out to the winter skating rink in models made of thick knitwear, cotton, or fleece. Be relaxed during indoor classes. To do this, choose models with a small percentage of elastane.

Summer and light

On hot days, the skin must “breathe”. If you're wearing pajama pants or sweatpants, find the right top: crop tops, comfortable tank tops, fitted T-shirts or polos. Cotton pants go well with any sports shoes: from slip-ons to sneakers.

Insulated

In the colder months, it is better to find sweatpants made from thick fabric with a special lining. For winter, choose fleece or polyester as an additional ball. Most often, such “insulation” is created from padding polyester. But for cool autumn and spring - an ecological mesh under raincoat sweatpants.

With fleece

Models with fleece play a huge role in thermoregulation. They are suitable for classes in cold winters and rooms with drafts. On the stage of fashion catwalks you can find universal trousers with fleece styles, leggings, hipsters.

Suitable style

A simple cut is main feature sweatpants. They should be not only stylish, but also practical, comfortable, and easy to wear. Fashion designers presented several styles in the sport-chic category:

· low-waisted breeches,

· straight cut models made of knitwear, stretch,

hipsters, bloomers and bloomers,

· pajama cut trousers,

· leggings and leggings,

· culottes and pumpas,

· shortened Bermudas, carrots.

All of them differ from street styles with perforations and draperies. It’s not so much important to grab hold of a trend, but rather to ensure that the item looks neat and is functional.

Direct

It's time to combine a straight cut with tights, body shirts, bandeau T-shirts and regular turtlenecks. Give preference to cotton or viscose models. For shoes, choose shoes with laces or with no accessories at all (rivets, buckles, fasteners).

Relaxed fit

Spacious harem pants and bloomers are suitable for yoga classes. Models made of fine cotton will appeal to girls who lead healthy image life. Printed pants are combined with a plain top: a racer T-shirt, a short top.

Wide

The bag style is created not only from denim. Linen products are suitable for both running and acrobatics. A low armhole and waist will demonstrate a toned stomach and excellent abs.

On the cuff

Models with an elastic band or cuff look stylish and successful, “cutting off” tall height. They are also able to “hold” the product at the waist during intense training. On the cuff today there are breeches, carrots, and bloomers. They can be worn in a single color or diversified with a striped print or funny polka dots.

With elastic at the bottom

In addition to cuffs, there are trousers with elastic that perform the same function. Placed in the ankle area, it supports the pants and makes it possible to move in any direction, jump, and somersault. Such styles cannot fly off your hips.

Short

Short sports pants include culottes, Bermuda shorts, capri pants, and cropped leggings. The latter effectively hug the figure.

3/4 long

To add variety to your trip to the gym, dress in gauchos, breeches and ¾-length capri pants. Successfully bare ankles will attract the attention of a man and make him admire your charm. For greater effect, choose models with floral patterns, contrasting stripes, zigzag patterns, romantic fler-de-lis patterns, and patchwork.

Which trousers to choose based on material

The most successful option for sports trousers would be items made from cotton, linen, fleece, polyester and raincoat models, as well as knitted trousers. Depending on the style, take a closer look at stretch, easily stretchable legs.

Knitted

Popular knitwear creates models of breeches, bananas, leggings, and shorts. There is no feeling of constraint in any movement. After training, the body is not tense, and this is the best sign of high-quality fabric.

Fleece

Athletes need fleece in cold weather. With its help, it is easy to “insulate” models of leggings, breeches, cargo or carrot.

Made from polyester

Polyester makes comfortable sweatpants. The fabric is similar in characteristics to cotton material. Durable, wear-resistant models practically do not wrinkle! Polyester trousers also have excellent antistatic properties and are stain resistant.

Sweatpants design

Pay attention either to conservative formal trousers in black, brown, beige or funny colorful trousers with unusual inscriptions, emoji designs, technological pleating, ombre technique, Tie Dye and more.

Black

The most popular in sport-chic are black leggings, riding breeches, and bloomers. Girls are buying up such models due to their resistance to stains and dirt, elegant appearance. They can also be freely combined with other styles.

Gray

Classic gray color is suitable for any style of trousers. The only decoration of a restrained color will be the original edging, stitching on the pockets, and metal buttons.

Sportswear in the city It used to be illegal, but those days are long gone. Using the Puma Velvet Rope collection as an example, we, together with Numero magazine stylist Emily Hultquist, figure out how to wear and combine sportswear correctly.

Stylist's comment

Emily Hultquist: “Sporty style no longer has to be reconciled with environment. Minimalist trousers are ideal clothes for long walks. They are comfortable and easy to combine with basic turtlenecks, jumpers, and T-shirts. Over a turtleneck, wear a sports top and a printed jacket - the camouflage pattern matches the color scheme of the entire outfit. You can, on the contrary, choose something bright and contrasting: red, yellow. For example, a raincoat - after all, Russian weather is unpredictable. In any case, it’s worth taking warm clothes like a hoodie with you. Be sure to take a backpack or bag - it’s roomy, comfortable and frees your hands.”

tip #1

Last news from fashion weeks: carrying two bags at once, one small and one large, is fashionable. How to wear? For example, a belt bag with a backpack or a bucket bag. There is another option. A small bag on a chain that only holds a phone, with a larger one. Such items will look great with restrained sporty ones, without huge logos or contrasting color combinations.

tip #2

You can wear sportswear with heels, focusing on the divas of the 1990-2000s or the Kardashian-Jenner sisters - the only question is whether you need it. Thanks to the latter, by the way, the rule “leggings are not pants and cannot be worn as pants” is no longer relevant.

Stylist's comment

Emily Hultquist: “Calmly wear your favorite sports items, diluting them with accessories. This could be jewelry, hats, bags different models, belt... Even socks. Look, for example, at the trousers from the first look: they unbutton at the sides, you can show off unusual socks, knee socks or patterned leggings. Heels would work great too. The second option turned out to be more inventive: there are a lot of accessories at once. I love how the chain around my neck echoes the plaid shirt - there's something punk about both. Such bright things go well with sports ones and give the image its own mood. A smart, textured jacket or a bright, voluminous cardigan can also work.

tip #3

Thanks to Missy Elliott and other hip-hop stars of the 1990s and noughties, sporty total looks with pounds of gold are officially allowed, so don't be afraid to go overboard. Do you want a couple of bracelets, three chains, a necklace with a diamond, massive earrings, and a cap? Go for it. The jewelry will look most luxurious with suits made of velor and velvet.

tip #4

If you don't want to be a musical diva, one standout accessory will be enough. It is better not to wear flashy earrings with neck jewelry, but they can be combined with a high cap. And you can choose shoes without regard to everything else: even the most elegant pair will not compete with a necklace or bracelet.

Stylist's comment

Emily Hultquist: “You can wear sweatpants without visible identification marks, a plain bomber jacket, or a long tunic. The main thing is to stay away from bright colors. Dark colors (black, burgundy, dark blue) add solidity. Add jewelry (in this case, long earrings that immediately attract attention) and a small bag to make the look more evening. And if you choose something tight and revealing, like in a tight skirt and crop top look, be sure to wear something on top. Here, for example, the balance is held by an elongated blazer. The same goes for leggings, even if they are made of textured fabric like velvet: the hips should be covered. Makeup also plays a role in the night look: red lipstick immediately adds solemnity.”

tip #5

It is generally accepted that combining different textures in one outfit, for example velor with silk, is a dangerous activity. But take a broader view: trousers made of velvet material look good with smooth tops or even blouses. Classic sweatpants won't compete with, say, a chunky knit sweater. They can even be worn with suit jackets and Cossacks - it sounds crazy, but for modern fashion this is par for the course.

I'm already sick of winter. Maybe let's slowly start exploring the topic of spring trends? Moreover, the history with them is murky. Who doesn’t know yet: among the numerous trends, only one turned out to be so bold that it managed to sneak into literally all collections and reviews. And now it threatens to become the flagship of the next season. This trend can be briefly described in a terrible word nineties. What I mean is that we have to wear God's sake, oversized denim jackets, hoop earrings, mesh T-shirts and a shitload of painfully familiar greetings from the 90s.

I don’t have the strength to write about all this obscurantism in one post, so I suggest taking the poison drop by drop. Yesterday I was just meditating on new collections in search of the least of the upcoming fashion evils - so that I could fit them into my wardrobe with minimal stress for the post-Soviet psyche. So we’ll talk about mesh T-shirts and pointed boots sometime later, but today about the most dear thing - about sweatpants and sweatshirts. They're back, get over it.

According to the good old tradition, I will start with a demonstration of podium pictures. Given the current topic, I don’t promise anything beautiful. But let's just remember that runway fashion and life fashion are two very different things. Therefore, for now our task is simple: to make sure that the sports theme of the 90s has truly become one of the most flashy trends of the coming spring.

Yes, yes, everything is exactly in the form in which many of us remember these things: sweatpants with buttons and stripes, sweatshirts with elastic bands on the cuffs and collar. All in the most recognizable sports colors and in the most overt training interpretation.

But it’s not for nothing that I emphasized above that the pictures are runway. For us, the trend of the 90s is so painful that it is unlikely to take root in the “all at once” combination proposed by top designers. Even with socks in sandals, the wound still bleeds, but here we’re wearing Louboutins and sweatpants under our skirt. I personally feel so weak:

However, you can glean something useful from these pictures. From the point of view of gray reality, the easiest way to introduce a sports trend into your wardrobe is in doses. In fact, we've already gone through this a little. Remember sneakers and sneakers under dresses and coats? We normally wear:

So the story with sweatpants and Olympic shorts is very similar. If you try to use them in everyday outfits without fanaticism, you can get quite edible casual looks.

But, as you understand, such bows are not assembled off the shelf. Because despite their apparent simplicity, such images are still complex. And there is such a fine line that in no time you can get a sorcerer’s outfit instead of a trendy one.

Therefore, I would create such images using three fairly universal rules for combining things. They work great in different types of eclecticism, so they will somehow cope with unfortunate sweatpants.

Rule number one- this is a choice of stylistic emphasis. It is clear that in the gym sweatpants will just be sweatpants. But if we wear them “in public,” then the pants automatically become the accent of the image. So the only way to show that it was #as intended is to make this emphasis the only one catchy in appearance. That is, let all other things be neutral background so as not to draw attention to themselves. Otherwise, you will end up with a stoppage instead of a masterfully played out trend.

Plus, the new thing itself, I think, should not be any kind, but really tendentious. For example, sweatpants 2016 are either hip-free or with wide elastic at the bottom. The same requirements apply to sweatshirts, plus you can have a thin metal or fabric-colored zipper.

Now we need to figure out what background to wear this incredible beauty with. From here rule number two: in order to create an urban image based on something as atypical for this environment as sportswear, you need to forcefully introduce some kind of distinctly urban item into the image. Essentially, use everyone’s favorite contrast, preferably the harshest one. What I mean is that complementing a sporty casual outfit with some other casual wear is not the most interesting option. It certainly has the right to life, but then the fashionable accent will be muffled and you will just be in comfortable casual clothes. Modest and without pretensions, everything is how I like it:

So in the spring I’ll probably be wearing something like this:

Therefore, for the purity of a fashion experiment, it is strongly recommended to complement sweatpants and sweatshirts with almost Louboutins. Seriously, something that is openly contradictory in style: a romantic dress, a business shirt, classic coat, sexy patent leather shoes or a rocker biker jacket. In short, something frankly anti-sports.

But simply wearing one with the other is not enough. And from here, finally, my favorite and very important rule number three: you need to dress yourself to a full outfit in complex looks, taking into account everyone stylistically different things that you mix. Simply put, each item must be stylistically supported in the image by something “related”. To the sweatpants (sports casual) and a leather biker jacket (fatal drama) A casual tee and dramatic stilettos are perfect. The coat mix can be complemented with the same bag or shoes, etc. At the same time, the hairstyle and everything else will also need to be thought out in the chosen directions.

Similarly, you can think of a combination, for example, of sporty casual and cute romance in the form of a floral skirt or a blouse framed with ruffles - as was the case in the Chloe collection. We just remember that we ruthlessly combine two incompatible styles, so we complete the image based on these two directions. Who is ready to experiment, send photos :)

And that’s all I have for the rules for today. They can easily be used when creating outfits in general with any complex items that will be overwhelming in the spring. So the educational program will still come in handy. We will discuss all this in more detail later, but if anyone is interested short review all the trends now, I advise you to take a walk

When people, going to the airport, liked to dress up. Then times came when people began to get upset because airport fashion had died out. Now the departure hall is full of relaxation and workouts, no matter whether it is a sports brand or a luxury brand.

Nowadays everyone wears sportswear on planes - young people, pensioners, celebrities. We are all for sweatpants, but with slight adjustments to trends. Consider us advocating the return of airport fashion, but not advocating walking up the ramp in a suit and tie. Here are some thoughts on how to upgrade your air bow.

1. The simplest sports sweatpants and a sweatshirt

For the long flight home

If you have a long night flight to go on vacation to your parents, leave your doubts and choose your favorite tracksuit, sneakers and everything that comes with them - an oversized coat, a backpack, etc. If you are the parent in this situation, then don’t fool yourself: your children, in any case, won’t distinguish Target from Tom Ford.

Shia LaBeouf

Kanye West

2. Minimalist sweatpants without logos

For international flights

Special trips add poignancy to airline banalities. Maybe you're flying away on your honeymoon. Or you decided to treat yourself to a solo trip to a little-explored country with all the ensuing consequences for your wallet, stomach and other parts of the body. Accordingly, you need to present yourself with a little more clear aplomb, starting right from the airport. A pair of cotton trousers is a great option. A sweater too, so as not to freeze in the cabin. If you fly for more than eight hours, you’ll be nowhere without sportswear again. But it should be well-chosen sportswear. It fits into an ensemble and seems to say: “I’m only wearing sweatpants because it’s a fucking long flight.”

David Beckham

Now the question is “what can’t be worn and with what?” are asked less and less. Modern fashion involves wearing everything and with everything. Clear boundaries are erased. It’s worth getting rid of habitual stereotypes. The combination of the seemingly incompatible comes to the fore.

Therefore, it is in the last couple of years that sweatpants have become an item of everyday wardrobe for both boys and girls. Typically, work dress codes do not include sweatpants as casual office attire. At the same time, very often companies allow free style on Fridays. And if you work in the sports industry, then not only on this day.

Sweatpants are the new denim!

Think about the people of New York or Los Angeles. They are relaxed and at ease, their clothes complement their natural beauty and even a certain charisma. Convenience is always at the forefront. This makes such people seem more interesting, and you want to be like them.

It was from the heart of America that the fashion for sweatpants came into being as the new denim: they fit absolutely everyone, made of extremely practical material, cotton or polyester.

Sweatpants + sneakers and leather jacket; sweatpants + open sandals and a sweatshirt or a loose shirt over a top - such images were given to us by fashionable photos of bloggers and stars. Some adherents of sweatpants manage to coolly combine sweatpants with heels, evening sandals and a necklace.

Sweatpants even become glamorous clothing when paired with a dress or skirt. But only fashion gloss editors or the most daring designers would dare to take such a step. On the street, such an image would, of course, be comical.

In the men's world, there is an opinion that a man in sweatpants cannot have good taste. Not true. Look at David Beckham, Jude Law - standard handsome men! And their images are copied by stylists and fashionistas from all countries.

It is important for men to remember that sweatpants + boots with an extended toe are prohibited. You can choose things with a classic cut, but the main thing is to look at the material: if it’s a jacket or cardigan, then knitted; if boots, then in the style of a lumberjack. The main thing is not to slip into the dangerous “naughty reveler” style.

The look will look stylish in sweatpants, a sweatshirt or turtleneck with a casual-style loose-fitting jacket + a voluminous textured scarf.

Where to wear it?

Today it is considered the norm to wear sweatpants to a cafe, cinema, and even to a modern production in a small theater (in a famous theater it is better to dress more elegantly). Therefore, as I said, consider these pants as an alternative to boring jeans. After all, the approach to producing and wearing such things is the same - comfortable and cozy clothes that do not require special care, which should be the main “artillery” in your wardrobe.

Which material should I choose?

It is better to choose sweatpants for every day from thick cotton or footer. You will feel comfortable and cozy in them all day long. This material does not cause allergic reactions and dermatitis. The loose fit and soft elastic waistband do not press - this is extremely important for clothes in which you move a lot: playing in nature, walking in the park, doing everyday things.

Expand to full screen Back 1 / 4 Forward

Current colors remain models made of gray melange, soft white in the ecru shade, which resembles the color butter, and basic black.

If you are looking for sweatpants for fitness or strength sports, you can take a closer look at models made of polyester with a moisture-wicking membrane. Such models take up little space in your bag and dry quickly. But remember that synthetic material can cause redness on the skin. Therefore, wash such items more often.

Sweatpants do not require special care - just wash at a temperature no higher than 40 degrees. It is better to iron from the inside out. But if you forget about it, it doesn't matter. Nothing will happen to sweatpants.
