Rose Verano - “✿✿✿ Rose is the queen of all flowers, this is undeniable! ✿✿✿ Scarlet rose - a bright decoration for your flowerbed! " Rosa verano description

Hello everyone who stopped by!

A wonderful warm autumn continues to delight the inhabitants of the Black Earth Region. It's the end of September, and during the day it's really hot in July. Many flowers began a second, and some even a third, life from this! And in the parent’s garden the roses bloom and bloom. They bloom from May to October, these flowers are so wonderful. My dad plants and cares for roses, having long ago given up other garden flowers.

Admiring this splendor, I wanted to write a review, but it’s just impossible to write about all the roses at once, contrary to the rules of the site. I will write gradually about each variety. The names of some varieties will still need to be reliably established using the Internet!

The first rose in the flowerbed was planted by me, then still a schoolgirl, with my own hands. Then I planted two roses - white and scarlet. The white one did not survive the harsh frosts and froze to death in the first winter, but the scarlet rose is still pleasing to the eye and has even become the mother of more than one bush!

I spent a long time rummaging through various sites in search of the exact name of the variety. It’s difficult to determine this without being a gardener, and roses in real life may be slightly different and degenerate. But I definitely wasn’t wrong with this variety! The rose exactly matches the description and photo on the website:

Rose Verano - tea - hybrid rose, whose flowers will give your garden a sparkling effect. The bright color of the orange-scarlet buds attracts attention, the white center emphasizes elegance and adds aristocracy to the rose. The diameter of the flower is average - 9 - 11 cm. The aroma is light, citrus. It is elegant with its goblet-shaped bud, the petals are velvety to the touch, the flowers take a long time to open. There are approximately 30 - 35 petals in one flower. The bush is tall, 80 - 100 cm in height, shoots are erect. The leaves are medium in size, shiny, glossy, dark green. The rose is good both in the garden and for cutting. Resistant to frost and disease.

This rose is truly scarlet, with an orange tint appearing in the sun. It's like she's on fire!

The flowers are velvety and delicate, and the smell... mmm! Roses in purchased bouquets don’t smell like that, only garden roses can smell like that. Sour citrus aroma, very rich and bright. It’s impossible to tear yourself away, you want to inhale and inhale!

The leaves are dark green, shiny and smooth. Note! The leaves of a rose should have 5 petals; if some shoot has leaves that have more than five petals and the color of this shoot has become different (pale), then the rose bush has a wild animal that needs to be gotten rid of. Otherwise the whole rose may be reborn.

Every year the rose gains a different height, it can be adjusted by pruning.

A few words about caring for roses:

The rose will delight you from late spring until late autumn if you give it due attention.

✿ Water constantly, especially if it’s hot!

✿ You can water the bush with special fertilizer a couple of times a season. In rural areas, infused chicken manure is used, but you can simply buy nitrogen fertilizer at a specialty store.

✿ Protect the bush from winter frosts. Frosts are not even as scary as winter thaws, from which roses are covered with ice instead of snow. It is imperative to cover this fragile flower for the winter.

✿ Trim the wildflower in a timely manner so that the rose does not degenerate

✿ Be sure to treat bushes against aphids and other misfortunes (diseases)

I don’t see any downsides to growing these wonderful flowers. Patience and care and they will delight you with their splendor. Perhaps a small minus is only in periodic “quiescence”. That is, the bush produced several buds (the number depends on the size of your bush), they faded gradually, then new ones appear, and so on.

Over time, I will write about other beauties of our kindergarten!

All the best to you and good luck with your gardening!

No connoisseur of the “queen of flowers” will pass indifferently past the flowering bush of the Verano rose variety. The bright bicolor coloring of the buds immediately attracts attention - the soft yellow lining, combined with the main orange color of the petals, will decorate any bouquet and will not go unnoticed in the flower garden. Moreover, these two colors do not contrast with each other, but smoothly transition into one another - this is a distinctive feature of the Verano variety from other similar two-color hybrids.

The buds have a classic elongated shape, and their diameter can be up to 12 cm. The flowers are stuffed, the number of petals in each of them is usually about 40 pieces. Moreover, the bud begins to bloom gradually; it takes about two weeks until it completely fades.

The name of this rose is combined with the color of its flowers - “Verano” means “summer” in Spanish. This rose is the fruit of the selection of Mikhail Krylov, a scientist and breeder from Russia living in France. This hybrid was introduced for sale in 2000.

Main features of the Verano variety

The bushes of this variety are quite tall - up to 1 m, spreading, but not very branched. The stems are quite densely covered with thorns. Most often, one bud grows on the stems. These roses bloom actively and amicably, and the flowering time of each bud is long, not only on the bush, but also in the water after cutting.

Glossy emerald-colored foliage sets off these vibrant flowers beautifully. But you should remember that a rose should have no more than 5 leaves on each branch. More foliage indicates that the rose is beginning to degenerate into a rose hip. Therefore, all wild plants with 6 or more leaves should be removed immediately.

The distinctive qualities of the Verano variety are its fairly high winter hardiness, as well as resistance to the main disease of flowering shrubs - powdery mildew, as well as to the rainy season. But this rose is not resistant to black spot, so these shrubs should be planted in sunny areas where a light breeze regularly blows through the plants. Another preventative measure against this disease is regular pruning of rose bushes to prevent the flowers from becoming thickened.

In the southern regions, the Verano variety does not need to be covered for the winter, as it is resistant to drops in ambient temperatures down to -10, -15 degrees Celsius. And in areas located in colder climatic conditions, covering this shrub for the winter is the best remedy for flowers from freezing in the cold.

And, of course, if the gardener wants this rose to delight with its continuous flowering, then one should not forget about caring for this flowering shrub. You should regularly water the circles of rose trunks, loosen the soil and simultaneously remove growing weeds. Several times a season, organic or nitrogen mineral fertilizers must be applied to the soil.

You should also regularly inspect the foliage and stems of rose bushes in order to notice in time an “invasion” of aphids or the development of diseases. For prevention, Verano roses are sprayed several times a season with special preparations against “harmful” bugs and diseases.

Caring for these flowers is simple, so flower growers do not have any special worries. The only slight drawback of this variety is that new buds appear on the bushes only after the old ones have completely faded (and the flowering process in Verano takes about two weeks). Therefore, fading buds should be cut off immediately so that new ones appear on the bushes.

No self-respecting gardener can do without the queen of gardens on his site in at least one copy. However, roses are popular all over the world not only among professionals, but also among ordinary flower fans with very limited space for growing them. And the variety that we will tell you about will not leave indifferent even those who are not particularly passionate about growing plants.

Rosa verano

The magnificent rose verano is one of the brightest representatives of modern tea hybrids, which have positive traits classical tea ancestors are enhanced several times. This variety was bred for about 20 years in the nursery of a native of Russia, Mikhail Krylov, who chose to move to France and continue his work as breeders there.

Translated from Italian, “verano” means summer, so the rose verano is the rose of summer. The variety is quite heat-loving, has average frost resistance and in our climate it will survive the winter in an open space, but will be very happy with good shelter in the form of sand at the roots and spruce branches on the surface. Just protect the plant from overheating and diaper rash - roses really don’t like this phenomenon.

The rose verano in the photo more than fully justifies its name, representing a very bright plant with striking external features:

  • basic orange color, with some approximation to coral;
  • rich soft lining Pink colour, pleasantly shading the main tone of the petals. From the side the buds look very interesting;

The bush can reach a height of more than a meter. It is spreading, but not very branched. The buds open gradually, and not immediately, but in large quantities and together, they can last about a month on the bush. Almost every flower is located on a separate peduncle, which makes them easy to cut and form excellent bouquets.

Rosa verano description

Among gardeners, rose verano is described as a plant that can grow in one place for a long time without becoming too woody or degenerating, which would inevitably affect the brightness and size of the flowers. Its winter hardiness is acceptable for our region, but shelter will not hurt (as mentioned above). The ability to resist diseases is quite high, especially to powdery mildew and soaking during the rainy season. Flowers also do not fade after getting wet.

From florists description of rose verano has all the hallmarks of a favorite, as it blooms all season long and is perfect for commercial cultivation.
