The valves are supplied as part of control units and are pressure-tested to a pressure of 1.6 MPa.
Scheme of KSD valve operation
A - valve inlet
B - valve outlet
B - supra-membrane cavity of the working chamber
G - submembrane cavity of the working chamber
D, E - cavities of the incentive chamber
MR - membrane of the working chamber
MP - incentive chamber membrane
RD - pressure indicator
"D" - drainage hole
"P" - working hole
"C" - signal hole
"K" - control hole
"P" - incentive hole
Device and principle of operation:
The MP membrane divides the working chamber of the valve into two cavities C and D.
The MP membrane divides the valve incentive chamber into two cavities D and E.
The cavity B of the valve is connected by a channel with the cavity D and the working hole P, designed to be connected to the supply pipeline to fill them with a working medium and create pressure in them.
The cavity D is connected by channels with the cavity G and the signal hole "C" intended for connection of the signaling device and the drainage line. The cavity E through the channel in the cover is connected with the incentive hole "P", designed to feed the incentive line through the throttling hole. Drain hole "D", located in the cavity of the outlet B, is designed to quickly drain the fluid during maintenance. Control hole "K" located in the cavity of the outlet B, intended for connection with the drainage line in deluge installations (eliminates accumulation of liquid at the valve outlet due to possible leaks), and for connection with the impelling hole "P" in sprinkler installations.
To bring the valve to its original state (standby mode), it is necessary to create pressure in the cavity E and the incentive line through the hole "P" from the line that feeds the incentive line. Then through the hole "P" it is necessary to create pressure in the cavity B from the supply pipeline that feeds the fire extinguishing installation. After the gate valve 3D is opened at the valve inlet, it is ready for operation, while the MP membrane, acting through the stem on the gate, closes the inlet A, and the MP membrane, under pressure in cavity E, closes the channels connecting cavity D with cavities C and D.
When the stimulus device is triggered by the impact of the fire, the cavity E communicates through the hole "P" with the atmosphere. The pressure in cavity E drops. Under the pressure of the fluid flowing from the cavity B into the cavity D, the MP membrane closes the holes "P", turning off the feed of the incentive line, and connects the cavities D, C and G to each other. The pressure in cavities C and D equalizes and ensures the opening of the shutter due to the movement of the MP membrane under the action of the pressure of the fire extinguishing liquid at the valve inlet. The signal about the actuation of the valve is given by means of a pressure sensor RD type SDU-M, connected to the signal hole "C".
To use the valve in deluge installations, it is necessary to connect hole "P" to the incentive line, and hole "K" to the drainage line. To use the valve in sprinkler installations, holes "P" and "K" must be connected to each other. Depending on the operating conditions, liquid or air can be used as a medium for supplying the incentive line.

PURPOSE
The deluge valve PILOT KSD with a hydraulic membrane drive is a normally closed locking device, used to operate in the control units of water and foam fire extinguishing installations, and supplies a fire extinguishing agent. The valve can be used in sprinkler air control units and deluge units with hydraulic, electric, pneumatic actuators and their combinations. When using the appropriate piping, the PILOT KSD valve provides a fire alarm when the system is triggered.
The diaphragm mechanism guarantees even distribution of pressure on the obturator area, prevents excessive deformation of the diaphragm and ensures a longer service life.
The valve is actuated by the pressure of the fluid in the supply line.
For proper operation of the valve in fire extinguishing installations, it is recommended to familiarize yourself with GOST R 51052-2002 "Automatic water and foam fire extinguishing installations. Control units. General technical requirements. Test methods" and with the set of rules SP 5.13130-2009 "Fire protection systems. Fire alarm and fire extinguishing installations are automatic. Norms and rules of design».

VALVE OPERATION
The main parts of the valve are the body, the diaphragm and the bonnet (fig. 1 of the technical description). The membrane with the lid forms a shut-off chamber "ЗК", having a connection port "З" on the lid. The body edge in contact with the membrane separates the flow part into the inlet "B" and outlet "P" cavities. The outlet cavity has a port “D” on the body for connecting a drain and a port “C” for connecting a signaling device.
The valve can be in standby (closed) and operating (supply of fire extinguishing agent) modes. The valve is put into standby mode when fluid is supplied under pressure to the locking chamber "ZK", while the membrane is pressed against the edge of the housing 1 and blocks the communication of the cavities "B" and "P".
In the operating mode, the liquid from the locking chamber is discharged through an incentive device (manual start-up valve, solenoid valve, etc.) into the drain. The pressure in the locking chamber becomes less than in the inlet cavity "B", as a result of which the membrane opens the passage of liquid to the outlet cavity "P" and further to the supply pipeline of the installation.
