At the very first signs of an outbreak of confrontation, questioning your reputation, image or competence, it makes sense to apply the strategy of ending the confrontation at the subject level. This means that you quickly, painlessly and persistently return to the discussion of the main topic.

Imagine that up to now the conversation has been constructive and proceeding in a businesslike manner. Suddenly and almost imperceptibly he

turned into a discussion of extraneous topics, thus deviating from the main goal. There are common personal and verbal attacks that are designed to pressure you or bury your reputation. In such a situation, you should strive to bring the discussion back to the main topic. The pertinent response # 1 is the Rule of Three T's:

Touch -Turn -Talk 1

1. Touch - Rating: evaluate the topic of conversation in terms of the purpose of the discussion.

2. Turn - Return: return to the main topic.

3. Talk-Deepening: delve deeper into the main topic so that it becomes the main topic of discussion again.

Touch - Rating:“Please do not go over to extraneous topics. Let's stay on track main theme our discussion and we will not deviate from it. "

Turn - Return:"Our topic today is the logistics of the XYZ product at your facility."

Tip: In a roundtable meeting or discussion, use Touch-Turn-Talk in conjunction with eye contact.

Touch / Eye contact with the addressee; you say, "Don't start a controversy, please stick to the main topic."

Turn / Change of eye contact; looking at another interlocutor, you say: "Our topic today is the logistics of the XYZ product in the enterprise."

This is the only way to ensure that the first addressee is excluded from the conversation. Eye contact means: Well, does anyone have an objection ?! You don't want to go back to a side topic anyway.

The advantages of the Rule of Three T's are obvious:

You consistently lead the conversation;

You do not accept deviations from the topic of the conversation;

You actively exclude extraneous topics from the conversation and do not delve into the discussion of the mood of those present;

You are unshakable in your position and strictly adhere to the topic;

You stop squabbles and jokes about the competence of those present;

All your maneuvers are within the bounds of politeness and common sense;

You quickly and persistently suppress the tactless behavior of the participants;

At the same time, you not only answer questions, but also focus the audience's attention on clear formulations;

You answer only those questions that help to continue the discussion, accordingly appreciating them.

Consider: every answer justifies the question asked!

Please observe the following principles:

Formulate positive statements.

Not properly:"Soul mood is not the topic of today's meeting!"

Right:"Our topic today is logistics, please explain your position on this issue!"

Underline what has been said with a clear assessment.

Not properly:“Thus, we will quickly reach

the set goal ".

Right:"This is the only way we can quickly reach the goal of our conversation."

Prevent the transition to extraneous topics from the very beginning and

only then return to the main topic of discussion.

Not properly:"Now it comes about the enterprise as a whole,

not about your specific area. "

Be concise and clear in your statements.

Avoid all comparisons, limitations, declaring yourself intellectual bankrupt, and detecting signs of communicative incompetence.

In conversation / discussion, use not questions, but addresses directly to the audience.

Avoid repetitions and negative statements, they reinforce misconceptions and lay the foundation for criticism.

If you make negative statements about your image, competence, education or experience, forbid yourself to ask counter questions, because opponents who have mastered the rhetoric usually answer such questions.

On June 19, Honored Coach of the Republic of Belarus, Master of Sports of the USSR Vladimir Genov, one of the leading water ski coaches in the world, whose students have conquered the highest sports peaks, celebrates his 60th birthday. The rule of three "T" - Labor, Talent, Patience - remains the main thing in his life.

Water skiing entered his life at the age of 12 in 1966, almost as soon as his father Nikolai Leonidovich Genov, the honored trainer of the BSSR, the pioneer of this sport in Novopolotsk, the founder of the Genovy water ski school, now known throughout the world, became interested in them.

“At first, my father disappeared for days on the river,” recalls Vladimir Nikolaevich. - And once in August he took me with him. It was then that I took my first water skiing start in my life. on the Western Dvina river. It is impossible to convey in words the delight when I got out of the snow-white spray and found myself in the middle of the Dvina on water skis. The people on the shore seemed to be Lilliputians, but I imagined myself as a god walking on water as on earth. That was the beginning. We still had so much ahead of us ... ”.

After 10 years, being already a master of sports of the USSR, Vladimir Genov started working as a water skiing trainer. The third in the renowned coaching bunch of the Genovs - the honored trainer of the Republic of Belarus, the master of sports of the USSR international class, the repeated USSR record holder in figure skating and the prize-winner of the USSR championships Arkady Genov - took his first lessons in water skiing from his father and older brother (the age difference between them is seven years ). “All the experiments of a beginner coach were staged on Arcadia,” smiles Vladimir Nikolaevich. The result, as we can see, is excellent.

I remember last year's European Electric Traction Championship in Poland, when the national team of the Republic of Belarus once again won the team competition, but at the award ceremony, the representative of the Water Ski Federation of the Republic of Belarus, instead of presenting the medal for the team victory to the team coach Vladimir Genov, handed it over to another person with a comment that this medal should be kept by the federation. And then Nikita Papakul, one of his stellar students, who won the all-around in the individual competition, stepping down from the podium, took off his gold medal and hung it on the coach with the words: "We earned it together, and it is rightfully yours."

- The life of talented people is not easy by definition, because they never stop there. By what and by whom do you save yourself when it is especially difficult?

- I always remember my father and ask myself the question: how would he act in this situation? In general, we always save ourselves by work. This is really true: today something did not work out - we will continue to work, and everything will work out. Labor and patience.

- And are your family members nearby?

- Certainly. My rear is reliable. Here they are (we are talking on Skype, and Vladimir Nikolaevich is scanning his faces with the camera): mother, Nina Alexandrovna, daughters - Natasha and Nina. And his wife Nadezhda this moment at the sports camp "Water Skier". We have been with her since 1979. I cannot imagine my life without her and I never cease to admire her patience and wisdom. It is surprisingly easy and quick to find mutual language with people. Athletes just love her. Arkady's wife, Tatiana, runs our water ski school. She is pedantic and demanding in her work, sometimes we get it from her. But this is all for the good of the cause. And, of course, brother Arkady, neither work nor achievements we share with him, this is our common life, we walk along it shoulder to shoulder. And the most reliable rear for all of us is my mother, Nina Aleksandrovna. She is always worried about us and sincerely rejoices at our successes, is aware of all our affairs and is the strictest critic in all matters.

I would like to note that unlike a narrow specialist who, according to Kozma Prutkov, is similar to a gumboil, Vladimir Nikolaevich Genov is a versatile person. He earned the recognition of his fellow countrymen not only in sports, but also in public activities: he was elected three times as a deputy of the Novopolotsk City Council, four times as a deputy of the Vitebsk Regional Council, and he is him now. He subtly understands and feels art. I will never forget the virtual tour that he gave for me from the halls of the art gallery in Polotsk, from the exhibition of an old portrait, which he visited with his family. I used my mobile phone to send pictures of pictures to the chat, remarking with humor: "Since there is not enough money for pictures, I take pictures of them wherever I go." - I am a fan of jazz music, - says the honored trainer. - For the first time in 1979, in late autumn, I went on vacation and went to visit my relatives in Leningrad. For the first time I heard and saw the legendary St. Petersburg jazzman David Goloshchekin, thanks to his comments during the concert, I just fell in love with this music. Once in Kharkov, at a spring training camp, he took with him the then very young Oleg Devyatovsky and his brother Arkady to a concert of David Goloshchekin, who had come on tour to this city. So what? Two minutes after the start I heard on both sides the puffing of two of my jazz lovers, sweetly sleeping. True, after the concert they told me that they got real pleasure from this music and had a great rest! Unfortunately, I am alone in my musical passion and can only listen to jazz when alone at home or in the car on the road ...

And the eldest of the Genov brothers also has the richest collection of Pushkiniana - the collected works of his favorite poet and books about him. Vladimir Nikolaevich remembers many of Pushkin's poems well and often quotes. I would say even more: the poet's thoughts, mood, actions in the difficult circumstances offered to him by life in the inner world of Vladimir Genov determine a lot.

In fact, most players in the economic field are financial operators who literally create unthinkable wealth with a single click of a computer mouse. This is far from the working proletariat. This is a kind of new caste of businessmen who, with the help of penetrating understanding and attention to the market, can literally "cut down" money in a split second. To do this, you need to see the difference in the value of certain assets during a bearish fall or bullish rise in the market.

But here we will not talk about the apocalyptic background (a favorite theme of Christians) of these dramatic events. Although there are decently wealthy people among the revolted citizens. We will not insert a word about the socio-political interpretation of the motives of the demonstrators: it seems like they do not shoot from the cruisers at the Capitol, the sailors do not bind anyone and do not take them anywhere, such as basements. Therefore, whether Christians need to participate in such events is a matter for everyone to judge personally. Yes, there are clashes with the police, but as far as we know, there is not much bloodshed there. You won't find our "Robin Hoods" in Russia in the afternoon with fire - we perfectly remember our "Marches of Dissent". Although the idea of taking tithes from corrupt officials (or rather, from their wives) as a percentage is a tempting idea.

Anyway, world economy as well as society, received another signal. A signal to do something, to change something. If earlier to man could just be lucky in the labor market, then it was justified precisely by luck. The profession of this or that person literally shot out. It burst through. And he turned out to be necessary and in demand. But now the "Pepsi generation" is only interested in those professions that are highly paid. And they want to get big money for their work right now.

The same is the case in the world. All civilized European and North American citizens became interested exclusively in economics, business and finance. Office work. Vorotnichkova. How many boys and girls dream of working for Gazprom? So, they even had to invite immigrant guest workers to fill socially unrespectable working niches. And there was a gap between those who sit on the "Wall Street", and those who share the communal apartment in ten. Or, if we consider less dramatic situations, young graduates simply cannot find a job. After all, production is exported abroad.

What is morality? It seems that Scripture constantly insists on one simple thought: each person has their own talents and gifts. Let's put it this way: a vocation. Yes, today, perhaps, your profession (lat. From profiteor "to declare your business") is not in demand and well paid. But it is she who gives you drive, she provides you with energy, she helps a person feel fulfilled, as we say: to be in his place. And become in your society a blessing for the people around you.

Secondly, the prophets have already pointed out that in this case, a person must first of all concentrate not on profit, but on a state of gratitude to God: "At least the fig tree did not bloom and there was no fruit on the vines, food, even if there were no sheep in the pen and cattle in the stalls, - but even then I will rejoice in the Lord and rejoice in the God of my salvation "(Hab. 3: 17-18).
