During this time, readers of the main topic of the blog (questions of infobusiness, blog learning) rested and now you can return to the usual topics. Today we will talk about how to open unknown files, how to learn file extensions?

In the learning process, it turned out that many newcomers do not know how to work with files of various extensions, which prevents learning and promoting them in matters of real earnings via the Internet. In the process of learning, it is necessary to solve applied tasks for creating and promoting products, the time to study the joints of computer literacy is simply not. For this reason, I decided to write an article on this topic - how to open files. I think this information will benefit many novice.

So, if you do not open a file, one of the reasons may be the lack of the program you need, it may not be installed on the computer. When you try to open the file, the window pops up where you are invited to use this or other program, or find the program on the Internet.

As a rule, the search on the Internet does not help open the file. What to do next how to open files?

It's just done. All work is divided into two stages. At the first stage, you need to define the file extension. At the second stage we find the desired program, install it on your computer and open the file.

Let me remind you that the file extension is indicated next to the Latin Letters file, usually three letters, such as TXT, EXE, AVI, and so on. There are expansions and six letters, such as CamRec. File extensions are very much and remembered simply impossible.

If you are working with files using the Total Commander program, the file extension is automatically specified in the "Type" column (see Screen).

If you do not use Total Commander, then the file extension can be viewed as follows.

From the desktop, open the "My Computer", then click the "Service" button, the folder properties. In a new window, choose "View". In the check box "Hide extensions for registered file types", you take a check mark and click OK.

Now the file extension (screen) will be displayed next to the files.

Now proceed to the implementation of the second stage - define the programs with which we will open files. For this there are several services, if you wish, they can be found on the Internet. We will look at two services - Open-File and FileTypes.ru.

We go to the Open-File service (Screen)

and on the left you first select the category that it will be an audio file or video file and click on the selected category. The extension table (formats) opens on the right, in the left column you are looking for the extension you need (for example, AVI),

press it. A new window opens on the right (Screen),

where the programs you need are specified to open the file, select the program, click on it and download. And then, as they say, the case of technology.

Of course, programs can be free, can be paid, but this is another question, the main thing you will now know exactly how to open files.

The FileTypes.ru service works in the same way, its advantage is that it shows how to open files in three operating systems: Windows, MacOS and Linux. In the accompanying video, it is shown how to work in the services of Open-File and FileTypes.ru:

As you can see, the problem is solved easily and simply.
