The idea of \u200b\u200bbuilding chords was resurrected only in 2011. Then the authorities refused to build the fourth transport ring, which was previously included in the General Plan. The main reason is an exorbitantly high cost, which exceeded the trillion rubles.

Instead, what they gathered to build three new highways: Northwestern chord, Northeast chord (Other Name - Northern Rockada) and South Rokad. These roads should ultimately be an impaired ring-shaped system. The result is the same ring, but more efficient from the point of view of the distribution of traffic flows, because each element will go to the Moscow Ring Road. According to experts, such a principle of organizing a 20 percent movement is more efficient than a closed ring road. In addition, three new chords will not pass through the overloaded city center.

In 2019, Muscovites will be able to drive along northeastern chord. Highway 35 kilometers long will be from the new route M11 Moscow - St. Petersburg to Kosinsky Estakada (Interchanges at the Redemption of the Moscow Ring Road with the Master of Veshniki - Lyubertsy).

In the future, in the north of the capital, northeastern chord will be connected with the Northwestern Horde (will be held from Skolkovsky to Yaroslavl highway).
